Liverpool Shocked at Selhurst Park

In one of the biggest surprises of the season so far, Crystal Palace handed Liverpool their first defeat, winning 2-1 in dramatic fashion at Selhurst Park on 27 September. Despite a late equalizer from Federico Chiesa, Palace snatched victory in stoppage time through Eddie Nketiah, sending the home crowd into raptures. Liverpool, who had been unbeaten and sitting atop the table, looked off pace. Arne Slot’s side struggled to contain Palace’s aggressive press and counter-attacking threat. Alisson Becker was the standout performer for the Reds, making several world-class saves to keep the scoreline respectable. Palace, now second in the league, remain the only unbeaten team in the Premier League this season. Oliver Glasner’s men have extended their unbeaten run to 18 matches, and their tactical discipline continues to impress.

Can Newcastle Surprise Arsenal Tonight?

Tonight’s clash at St James’ Park sees Newcastle United host Arsenal in what promises to be a tactical battle. Newcastle have been defensively solid, keeping four clean sheets in five league games, but their attack has been underwhelming.

Arsenal, chasing Liverpool in the title race, have struggled at this venue — failing to score in their last three visits. With Anthony Gordon returning for Newcastle and Martin Ødegaard expected to feature for Arsenal, the midfield battle will be key.
